Orlando Bloom is Happy to Sacrifice Millions For His Baby

From telegraph.co.uk: As all parents know, bringing up a baby is expensive. However, Orlando Bloom’s son, Flynn, cost the Hollywood star many millions even before he was born earlier this year.

The Canterbury-born actor discloses that he turned down a highly lucrative film role so that he could make sure he would be there when his first child was born. “I rejected a film to be present at the birth,” says Bloom, 34, who married Flynn’s mother, the Australian model Miranda Kerr, 28, last year.

“It was extraordinary. It seems strange to me to see a little version of myself with all of my imperfections turned into a perfection. A tiny person, so clean, so new …”

Miranda and Orlando Go House Hunting in New Zealand

From heraldsun.com.au: Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom braved the cold to go house hunting in New Zealand yesterday. The couple were spotted viewing a rental property in the picturesque country.

Bloom, 34, is about to spend a long period in the country as he films The Hobbit, a two-part prequel to The Lord Of The Rings. And his Victoria’s Secret supermodel wife, Kerr, 28, and their seven-month-old baby son Flynn, will be right by his side.

Leaving Flynn tucked up at home, the couple braved the chill to view a sprawling four bedroom waterfront home, which features a gym, home cinema, spa, swimming pool and wine cellar.

Bloom has already been in New Zealand for two weeks to reprise his Lord of the Rings character Legolas for the highly anticipated 3D movies. The British star was joined by Kerr and Flynn a week ago, after the model had returned to the catwalk for the first time since giving birth, for David Jones in Sydney.Since then, Kerr and Flynn have remained indoors at another rented property, while Bloom makes daily trips to Wellington’s Stone Street film studio. The weather in New Zealand has been particulary bad, with plunging temperatures and snow closing schools and roads. Kerr has enjoyed the opportunity to spend some quality time with Flynn. She has been spotted reading him children’s books and teaching him to paint. The family usually split their time between their LA and London home for their work.

Orlando Bloom voted Most Stylish Celebrity Dad

From ctv.ca: Orlando Bloom has been voted Most Stylish Celebrity Dad.

The British actor — who has a five-month-old son Flynn with wife Miranda Kerr — beat celebrities including soccer star David Beckham and Hollywood heartthrob Jude Law to take the top spot in the poll, which was conducted by website MyCelebrityFashion.co.uk to mark Father’s Day in the U.K., which is celebrated this Sunday.

Andy Barr, Marketing Director of MyCelebrityFashion.co.uk, said: “With Father’s Day coming in the UK we wanted to put celebrity dads under the fashion spotlight. As a new dad, it was interesting to see Orlando Bloom fly straight into the charts and clinch the top spot as the ‘most stylish celebrity dad.’ The public evidently likes his eclectic style; and even though he beat David Beckham to the top spot, Beckham still managed to stay very near the top of the style charts with his ‘casual’ style.”

Orlando picked up 71 per cent of the vote with respondents praising the “diversity of his look”, closely followed by David with 66 per cent and singer Peter Andre, who received 59 per cent.

Legolas to Appear in ‘The Hobbit’

From Peter Jackson’s Facebook page: Ten years ago, Orlando Bloom created an iconic character with his portrayal of Legolas. I’m excited to announce today that we’ll be revisiting Middle Earth with him once more. I’m thrilled to be working with Orlando again. Funny thing is, I look older—and he doesn’t! I guess that’s why he makes such a wonderful elf.
