In Kentucky Filming Elizabethtown July 19, 2004, by Angie
We met Orlando in Versailles, KY filming Elizabethtown. I took a chance and made plans to take my 10 yr old daughter to Elizabethtown for a chance to get a glimpse of Orlando. Thank goodness I decided to go to Versailles on 7/19 for the last day of filming there. We finally found the Clark Funeral Home where they were inside filming. We stood outside in the heat for almost 5 hours & could here them yell "rolling" (at which time the extremely cute production assistant, Mike, would walk over & tell everyone "shhhh") & pretty soon they would yell "cut". It was really pretty cool knowing they were in there filming a Cameron Crowe Paramount Pictures movie! Finally at about 5pm we were rewarded for our patience. They drove Orlando around in a gold SUV. He had Sidi in there with him. There were probably 50 of us standing across the street waiting for him. He got out of the SUV & waved to us. It had gone around during the course of the afternoon that he doesn't like being screamed at, so after one initial yell, everyone was pretty quiet. The police were telling everyone to stay across the street, but Orlando told everyone to come on over. We all went across the street & got in line. They told us not to take pictures, so I only got three before they told us again to put the cameras away. They aren't very good, but you can tell it is him & that's all that matters. My daughter & I finally got our turn! Dani had her "I Love Orlando" shirt from Limited Too & I had my People magazine 50 Most Beautiful issue. I handed him the magazine & shirt (my daughter couldn't do anything but stare :) He looked at the shirt & said, "This is very cool, where did you get it". Again, Dani was in such awe she couldn't say anything! It was very cute. He signed her shirt with a heart & when he handed it back to her he said, "It isn't a very good job, but you get the idea". She smiled at him & turned red. While he was signing the shirt, I asked him if he was going to be in Elizabethtown on 7/22. He said he wasn't sure where he was going to be. I asked him if he would sign my mag azine too & he said, "Of course." He started to sign it on his face & before I could stop myself, I said, "Oh, not on your face!" He had already finished signing it by then & said, Oh, I'm sorry, do you want me to do it better!" He turned the magazine over & looked for another picture! It was so sweet!! I stammered, "No, it's fine". He added a heart & an x to the signature. When he handed the magazine back he gave Dani & I each a hug!!!! It was such a wonderful experience! We will never forget it! Orlando is such a doll! After working all day, he stood there & signed for everyone that was there. He made sure no one was left out.

In Oklahoma Filming Elizabethtown August 5, 2004, by Yvette
I live in Oklahoma City, and I had the pleasure of seeing them film in our wonderful state. Today they were filming in 2 locations.one in El Reno Oklahoma and then in our Memorial of the Federal Building Bombing...We arrived around 12p.m. and found out about 2 p.m. that they were still shooting in El Reno and were running behind..But would you belive at a little after 3 p.m. the crew starts to arrive. It was a very unique experience to see the crew set up and get ready to shoot a scene from a movie. we were very honored to be able to see and some of us were lucky enough to be extras in the memorial scene that they just happened to be shooting. He had his dogs with him of course and they are were just too cute!! We waited and waited and finally about 6 p.m. we get a quick glimps as he walks across the street from a little Deli called Markie's. Everyone was there it was closed down just for them...well at least the inside was the drive thru was still open to us..He shoots his scenes and decides he is going to give us Autographs were we excited..A NO PHOTO policy was in affect he would only sign autographs if we did not take photos of him and of course we agreed with that. He had told the crowd that Oklahoma was a great state and has enjoyed his stay with us...WOW I couldnt believe it I was 2 inches in front of Orlando Bloom and his eyes were just beautiful..Man that man is GOOOD LOOKING in person. I just could not believe I was that close to Orlando Bloom...He was more than happy to sign my 3 items and give me hug and smile..He is the sweetest and most gentlest person I have had the honor and pleasure to meet and would most definitley stand for another 6 hours to spend a few minutes chatting with him again.

They were filming shots of the new movie Elizabethtown on my best friend's grandmother's street and her house was going to be in the movie! We were so excited so we went over really early to hope 2 'catch a glance' of Orlando my favorite actor! We did more that catch a glance! We got to be extras in the movie so that means I'm in it! Even though all we did was sit in lawn chairs and talk 2 each other while Orlando was being pulled by in a car it was still awesome! We had to be there for about 8 hours though, and go through about 20 takes. It was worth it! everytime they backed the car up we would wait 4 it and wave 2 orlando and I even held up paper and pen *(autograph please?!?!)* and he mouthed "later". but they had to leave! I was sad until Later that day my same friend calls and says they are filming right across the street from where her aunt lives! so her aunt comes 2 pick us up and takes us 2 her house and we got 2 watch them film some of the movie! and when they had a break orlando was leaning up against a car, and he looked over and remembered me!!!! his eyes got big n his mouth opened n he pointed and I almost died he was like 10 feet away LOOKING at me! I could like hardly breath so like 1 minute later he starts walking towards me and Im trying not to DIE!!!! And then he said "hey" and I said "I LOVE YOU" lol I couldn't think of anything else at the moment! and he laughed and he said "aw thats so sweet" and everyone started like giving him paper and he signed all the autographs with MY PEN that I have right now! lol and he signed 2 for me and I talked 2 him he said he liked Kentucky it was 'a neat town' and I LOVE HIS VOICE. And then I said "could I take a picture with you?" and he said "oh im sorry that's against the rules!" and I said "oh but I love you SO MUCH!" and he laughed again and he said "okay I guess, but just one" and so my friends mom ran 2 get the camera and I wrapped my arms around his neck (lol) and put my face like right up against his.. and took the picture and then I hugged him, and I don't know what came over me but i KISSED his cheek! lol and get this:: HE KISSED ME BACK! haha and then I was all omg omg please don't pass out! and I held his hand for like a minute and then I had to go because I started crying and shaking and I felt SO STUPID 4 crying! but I just couldn't help it!! Lol and now that I think about it I should have asked 4 like his sock or something...lol. well at least i have that picture!!! WOA I'll love it 4ever!!! I will SO NEVER EVER 4GET THAT DAY!!!!

Orlando is my fav. actor and the hottest guy on the face of the earth and the happiest day of my life was when I got 2 meet him and I kissed him on the cheek! and he kissed me back and I felt that lil mustache hair he has on my face! Greatest moment of all time. wow I love him so much. and I got 2 be an extra n the movie Elizabethtown! awesome stuff I feel like the luckiest person alive!!!!!!!!!

AUGUST 4th
My mom was watching the news. They said that Orlando Bloom was going to be in Oklahoma, but she didn't hear where. I searched on the internet that night, but I didn't get any info on the movie.

AUGUST 5th
My dad called my mom's cell and I answered it. I asked him if he knew who was in OK and he said "Orlando Bloom". My dad gave me all the info so I grabbed my pic of Orly, a sharpie, got dressed, and left. When we got to the location my dad told us, we didn't find anything. We went into the nearest Shell station to get a coke. The owner was talking about a movie that was shot there yesterday. We asked the guy about some things and he told us that Orlando was in El Reno. Our hope restored, we drove to downtown El Reno and started searching. My mom pointed out some trailers and we wnt to check it out... I saw him and I was ecstatic. When he was on a break, he was riding his new minibike down the alley that me and a couple others were in. We saw Orlando and kinda flipped out. Orly LAUGHED as if he was amused and that made our day. FLASH TO LATER THAT DAY. We saw Orlando go to his trailer so we decided to go to that side as well. This one woman asked him when he would sign autographs and he rubbed his stomach and said "Let me eat first, I'm starving!" So after he ate, he came over there and signed my mom's autograph. My mom, who is not shy, said, "This is my daughter, Ashley. She is the whole reason I'm out here, because she loves you!" and he said, "No words, Ashley, no words." and we had NO idea what that meant. When he got to me, I told him my name and he signed my autograph. My unshy mom told him to look at my shirt *Legolas* and my wristband *Mrs. Bloom* He said "How cute!" and I asked him for a hug and he said yes!

AUGUST 6th
My mom decided to take me to see Orlando again. We first drove out to the Geary/Watonga area. Once again, my mom noticed the trailers and we went over there. We got to see him and I bonded with a fellow Orlando fan. They moved us arond alot but when we did get around him, I was so happy! So many hours later, he started going over to where we were, a couple people after that, he got to me. I had my Coldplay album with me, and he said, "Cool album" my mom told him "Yeah Coldplay is one of her favorite bands" and all I could say was "Uh-huh". So I asked him for a hug and he leaned in to give me one when a security guard put a hand between us and said "No hugs" but Orly, being the kind spirit that he is, rubbed my arm and said "Oh she can have a hug" and gave me hug! I had to call my friend, John. We stayed on the phone while I got back in line and had Orlando sign our virtual wedding certificate. I asked him if her would say hi to my friend and he DID! My friend called me later and was like, "That was really him, wasn't it?" THAT MARKS THE TWO BEST DAYS EVER!!!!

In Nebrsaska filming Elizabethtown August 2004, by ?
Only A few days ago Orlando Bloom was filming in Scottsbluff, Nebrsaska. (My Home town!) My dad is a caterer its a family business so my cousin and I were really excited that he was coming since we're big fans. Early Saturday morning we met with the filming crew. At first the crew wasn't to sure about my cousin and I, but at the end of the day they thought we were ok. In the morning at the airport we only got to see Orlandos double. But later on when we went to where they were filming we saw Orlando from a distance. We saw Orlando Bloom!!! But we were still there to work so.... Anyway later on that morning Orlando came to get some snacks and he needed a plate. we had just gotten the plates and they were still in our hands when he asks my cousin," Darlin can I grab a plate please?" My cousin just stands there her mouth wide open stuttering. So I interrup and say," Yeah sure go ahead." Orlando smies at us thanks us then walks off laughing a little bit. Later on my cousin and I are standing were we have the sncaks making sure everything is as perfect as possible when Orlando walks up he grabs a pear then says," oh Hi girls!" we sheepishly say Hi back. later on after a seen Orlando is running to the bathroom right next to me. All the sudden his pants falldown so you can see his boxers,he pulls his pants back up and looks over at me to see if I saw and waves. But stupid me didn't see anything so he shakes his head and runs into the bathroom. My cousin told me all of this. Then later on after another seen Orlando jumps out of the car and starts running around, flapping his arms, and yells,"wooohooo Yeah that was so much fun!" It was so funny. Then it was lunch time and everyone went under a tent to eat. We wern't serving lunch so we got to eat with them. Can't say the food was great but.... Even Orlando fed some to his dog when no one but my cousin and I were watching! So I guess you could kind of say we ate lunch with Orlando Bloom! Then at our next location there was a crowd of poeple hoping to get a glimp esof Orlando. But they were so far down the road we doubted they'd see him. When we were leaving that location my cousin and I expected to see Orlando in One of his cars, but when we didn't we wonderd where he had gone. Then Orlando drives by in the car he drives in the movie. Orlando smiles and waves at us and we wave back. Then he dose his head nod thing and drives off. when he drives past the crowd not one person sees Orlando in the car. My cousin and I burst out laughing we were sure Orlando was too. At our next location we got his autograph. He was acting for the rest of the evening. then right before he was about leave he thanked everyone for everything and said it was beautiful here. Then all of the sudden he thanks my cousin and I personally. He says, " Thanks girls (By now every one refers to us as girls,)you've been a big help to everyone and you've been wonderful to me! See Ya!" That had to to be one of the best Saturdays I'll ever Live!!!!

In Kentucky filming Elizabethtown July 28, 2004, by Lynn
I met Orlando twice on July 28th, 2004 while he was in Louisville, KY filming Elizabethtown. It started two days earlier when a few of my friends came and watched them film a scene. They all got to meet him that day when he came outside to sign autographs. So the next night we decided to come back, and we knew he usually came out to sign autographs at around 8:30. So we got there right around 8:30, and he was out there signing autographs, but he walked in right as soon as we got there. but we stayed and hung out for a few hours anyway, mainly just in case he came back out, but also because we met a lot of other cool people. There was on P.A. (production assistant) who was pretty rude to us, named Mike. He was kind of a smarty pants, and would get snappy with people if they asked when Orlando was coming out... eventually we left, not having met Orlando. So, we went back the next day..

I finally got to meet Orlando that day. TWICE! the first time I met him was in the afternoon when he came out to sign autographs. there was a HUGE mass swarm of fans screaming and crying. My friend and I were squished between a police man, Orlando's personal assistant and a table, and Orlando was on the other side of the table. So we just sat there and watched him sign autographs for awhile and finally the cop asked Orlando if he would sign stuff for us because we were stuck and couldnt get into the mob which they called a line. After that we just kinda hung out around the set for a few hours. My friend and I became pretty cool with the crew...they would remember us every day, and they'd get us drinks and stuff. So, we were just sitting in front of the Brown Hotel later that night and we were talking to Mike (the P.A.) and some of the other P.A.'s and crew members and they told us they werent sure if Orlando was coming back out because he had to work until 4am and stuff... so it was almost 11:30pm and we figured he wasn't coming out so we decided to leave. Well, right as we were about to get up, we looked over and Orlando was coming out!! We jumped up so fast and ran over to him. There were only about 15 people there, so it was really cool. I had him sign some police tape that a police officer had given me from the set, and Orlando thought it was funny. He was soooo nice. I felt really bad for him because you could tell he was really really tired, and the guards were like "Come on Orlando you have to go inside, you have to go back to work" and Orlando was like "Did everyone get an autograph? or 2 or 3?" he was so nice. I told him I loved his dog, because we got to play with it the night before for a little bit, and he was like "Oh i know, i love that dog too!" or something. And one of my friends told him he had the best looking skin we had ever seen and he made this funny face and was like "Really??" like he couldn't believe it. It was funny.

The next day my friend and I actually spent the night at The Brown. We were going to make reservations a few weeks before for my birthday, but it didn't work out so we did it this week since we knew Orlando was there. So once we got to the hotel we went and worked out at the gym since we knew Orlando worked out there but he wasn't there. We found out from the crew where they were filming that night... they filmed on the same street ALL NIGHT. From about 9pm until 6am. At first there was a big crowd of fans, but most of them were middle school or younger so eventually they left when they found out Orlando wasnt going to sign autographs. So eventually the crowd was me, my friend, and about 5 other people. They blocked off the street and two of the P.A.'s were guarding us. at one point we (me and my friend) were standing in the middle of the road and this big SUV pulls up and flashed its lights at us trying to get us to move out of the way, so we moved but we were standing there for a little bit before we moved, and as it passed Orlando stuck his head out the window and said hi to us.. we were like "Oh my gosh Orlando Bloom almost ran us over!!" it was hilarious. So we stayed at the set all night. We talked to Mike (the P.A.) and another P.A. named Brian and they told us stories of other celebs they had worked with and stuff... and Mike let us look at pictures he had taken on his digital camera and stuff.. it was cool. We stayed at the set all night, until they were done. We went back to our hotel room and slept for 3 hours until we had to check out. On our way back into the hotel we saw Orlando and Sidi walking in but we missed them. We rode the elevator with the crew though..

So that was my Orlando experience. That was probably the most exciting week of my summer. Orlando is sooo nice, and beautiful in person! I only wish we were allowed to take pictures of him!

In Kentucky filming Elizabethtown by Diana
I was a background actor in Orlando's new movie Elizabeth Town. He was filming with Cameron Crowe and Kirsten Dunst. I was a wreck the whole day. I was not booked to do the movie my roommate does it for a living. I got on because some people didn't show up for their spot, it's called Specking. I went because I knew he was in town. I'm crazy about him too. The black dog he is always seen walking with is his dog. His dog is so calm and sweet. Orlando is so adorable during a break he laid down on the pavement, underneath a prop table so he could snuggle with his dog. I also don't think he smokes, I saw everyone else on set do it including Kirsten and Cameron, I never once saw him do it. We're not allow to approach him at all, we will be kicked off the set. But if he walks by or stands nearby you can say hi and have a quick conversation. He's as handsome in person as he is on screen. He has such broad shoulders, and he is quite tall. In the scene he was filming, he is searching for Kirsten, but she keeps leaving him notes on where to find her next. He finds her and they passionately kiss (heartwrenching!) I also had an amazing view of him during that shot, embarrasingly I looked away quick when he noticed! There weren't too many background actors on set. He wore black jeans and a southwestern long, sleeved, flannel like shirt. In one scene we had to crowd around him and I got to brush up against him. wow... I did not want to go home! Oh, yeah and after he kissed Kirsten I caught him wiping his lips with his hand.

In Kentucky filming Elizabethtown July 21, 2004 by Hannah
I got to meet the actor of my dreams on July 21, 2004. My friend Grace and I were both seriously in love with him and loved to recite lines from the characters he has played. When we heard Orlando Bloom was coming to, not only Kentucky, but Louisville (where we live) we were pretty ecstatic. My excitement wore down little by little as i realized i had a pretty slim chance of meeting him. There were thousands of girls my age and older out there who wanted to meet him as well. I kept hearing people talk about how they saw him at Heine Bros. or downtown near his hotel, so Grace and I figured we should give it a shot. I got on this website to see where he would be filming and on what days. One entry said that he would be at the town square in Elizabethtown on the 22nd. My mom did me the favor of calling the Elizabethtown Town Hall to get the full information. I informed Grace and we were so excited. We planned out the day perfectly: when we would get there, where we'd eat lunch, how long we'd stay, and when we would leave. It was July 20th, and my mom and I were at my school registration. My friend Katie was there, and we ended up talking about Orlando being in town. To my surprise, Katie told me the Orlando was filming in Louisville that day, the day before he would be filming in E-town. My mom was the most excited because she wouldn't have to drive us an hour to e-town. So not an hour later, I called the place Katie had told me about, Wagner's Pharmacy across from Churchill Downs. We found out the times they would be filming and if Orlando would even be there. I called Grace as soon as we found out the details, and she and I were on the way to Wagner's about 30 min. later. There were about 10-15 people sitting in the grass across from Wagner's. They were all Orlando or Kirsten Dunst fans waiting patiently for a glimpse. It was about 2 o'clock when we arrived and we waited, exhausted and hot, with our pens and cameras at the ready for Orlando to come out. Wagner's had been turned into a movie set in about a half a day with lights and special tarps everywhere. We had eventually stayed there for so long that we became friends with Mark, one of the production assistants. We also got to meet Orlando's double, who did not look a think like Orlando. By the time 5 o'clock came around, we, along with the other fans, were desperate for a glimpse of Orlando. Mark said that Orlando was very friendly with his friends and enjoyed giving autographs. This made Grace and I even more excited, if that were possible. When we had begun to loose hope, Orlando came walking out from the back door to one of the food tents. You could hear everyone in the crowd of about 30 people whispering to each other, "Is that him?" "Oh my gosh, I think that's actually Orlando Bloom!" A girl I had never met before and I decided to yell "Orlando! Can we have your autograph?" He replied "After this take is over," with a mouth full of food. I could not believe Orlando Bloom "talked" to me. I finally began to believe that we might be getting his autograph! He finally did come back out after about 10 minutes. He walked out, casually with a believable grin on his face. He was completely flawless in person, just as much as he is in movies. He was accompanied by his manager and started from the start of the line. He made a point to make eye contact with the person whom he was signing for. We were surprised how few people had showed up, and were greatful that Katie was one of the few who knew about it. I prepared to ask him a question so that I wouldn't be just a girl he gave his autograph to. "Grace, what should we ask him?" I decided that I would ask him for a hug. I know it sounds crazy, but I was ready to try anything. It seemed like forever as he was patiently making his way down the line, and every second my heart beat faster and I became more jittery. He finally reached us, and it was like I was frozen in the moment; it was just a guy signing his autograph on a picture of himself...no, it was Orlando Bloom, my favorite actor! "Could we please have a hug?" I had rehearsed it in my head to find a right way to say it, but it still sounded so akward to me. He glanced at him manager who then said, "We have to many people here, and everyone will want a hug." Grace and I were not going to give up. After he had finished signing our autograph we raced to the end of the line. We decided that when he was finished signing autographs, he would have time to give us a hug! We again waited patiently as he neared the end of the line. When he reached me he took the picture of himself as though he was going to sign it, but realized it was already signed. He didn't have enough time to act puzzled because I had already said, "We got in the end of the line, so we could maybe have a hug." It sounded so akward! You could tell he was debating over the matter; just about half of the girls had circled back around with us in hope of asking him another question or perhaps getting a hug. I decided no to press the matter any further, so I started to turn away. My mom, waiting behind me said, "You didn't get a hug?" But Orlando had heard and, opening his arms wide said, "Oh, come here." With that, I graciously gave him a hug. One of my life goals was to meet Orlando in person. I met him, got his autograph to hang on my wall, and, best of all, I got to hug him.

In Kentucky filming Elizabethtown July 27, 2004 by Jessica
When I heard that the new Orlando Bloom movie, Elizabethtown, was filming in my city, Louisville, Kentucky, I was psyched! Firstly you must understand that I am among the most obsessed people in the world, and not just because of his OMG drop-dead gorgeous looks, not because of his fame, money, or anything like that. It's simply because, were I 27 and he was single (I'll be 15 in early November, and... well you all know about Kate. Bleh), we would get along so perfectly with one another.

Well, I had auditioned to be an extra but I didn't wind up making it, as they needed more older teens and some guys my age, but few girls. My friend Clay has a really big extras role (look for the guy in the play which Kirsten's character goes to see!) & I was feeling bummed that I didn't make it. My mom and I were at the post office when my dad called from work & said "This guy I work with just came back from lunch at the Brown Hotel and said they're filming Elizabethtown there... NOW!"

That was at 2:30 PM. By 3:00 we were there, just standing on the concrete and watching the camera men up in their cherry picker machines. Until about 5:30 nothing much happened, except I ate a Quiznos vegetarian sandwich & my dad brought me some other shoes & my Life Story: Orlando Bloom magazine. My mom was going back to our van so I waited by the Cast/Extras lunch line thinking maybe I'd see him there. All I saw was there caterer and this one crew guy who just watched me for a while. All the other crew people wouldn't tell us anything so I didn't even try him.

Eventually, though, he looks over at me and goes "Are you waiting for Orlando?" So, no duh, I said, "Yeah. Do you know when he might be out?" He replied, "Well, I don't know when but he'll most likely come out sometime, and if he does it will be at that door over there. He's been very nice and has come out every day to sign autographs." We talked for a while longer until my mom got back and I went over by that door to wait.

Nothing much else until 8:30 (yes, I stood, on concrete, for 5 1/2 hours!) except we thought we saw his body double but I asked and nope, just another crew guy. I made friends w/this girl named Jaimie & these other girls from Cincinatti I had met at the extras auditions (Yep, I waited 4 1/2 hours there & never even got a role!) & they all had crushes on the guy we thought was his body double. Plus I snapped some pics of the lighting rigs & the guy I THOUGHT was his body double (the real doubles pic was in the paper, & only his bod & his hair looked like Orli so it was an easy mistake. The face was different). Plus Jaimie went to dinner & said to call her if Orlando came out. Also about 10 people told me I looked like either Keira Knightley or Natalie Portman. I get that a lot. Then these girls came up to me and said "Who's he again? Some Orlando pirate guy or something?" I looked at them like they were crazy and told them who he was.

Well, at 8:34 PM on Tuesday, July 27th, 2004, my mom screams "JESSICA! GET YOUR CAMERA!" and he came out. I was shaking all over from the moment I saw his handsome face. He walked out wearing a nice white long sleeve button up shirt and black slacks, was clean shaven with very dark hair, and was accompanied by 6 or so bodyguards who surrounded him and yelled "NO PICTURES!" Boo. They were meanies, so I couldn't get his pic. I know a guy who did & he was supposed to email them to me but never did.

Anyway, back to the best day of my life, as soon as the cameras were down the guards moved & he waved & walked over to us. I ran to the crowed & sqeezed up to the front where I just stood, staring at him. He is so BEAUTIFUL in real life! No makeup, no lights, just Orli. The real him. I was shaking 10 times as hard and was on the verge of collapsing when he reached for my Life Story Mag. I almost forgot to hand it to him I was so busy taking in every inch of him! Luckily I shoved my arm out just in time & he turns to his body guard and, in a PERFECT faux American accent, says "Hey, can I have another pen? This one's out of ink!" For a minute as he was signing my mag (which I have scans of! There's a heart, and all you can read of it otherwise is O_l____ Bl___ & then an X below it! HE PUT A HEART ON IT YAYAYAYAY!!! Sorry, obsessed moment!) I was thinking "Woah. Looks right, right voice, but wrong accent!" I got over that shock when he handed back my mag & I "accidentally" touched his oh-so-soft and perfectly manicured hand. Actually, I didn't look at his hand I looked at his face so I kinda made up the whole manicure thing. But I did touch his hand! He was soo very nice and polite and down-to-earth and smiled and said "Hi!" or "What's up?" or "How are you?" to everybody. Even my mom thinks he's really nice and sweet.

I knew this might be my only chance so when he took the next magazine I go "Thank you sooo much, and, I'm sorry if I sound crazy, but can I have a hug?" exactly like that. Unlike other celebs I've met who regarded me like a little child, he stopped signing the autograph and stared straight into my eyes as I spoke. The best way I can think of to describe that is imagine looking at his pic in a magazine, except 3-D, and he turns and looks at you! Ahhh! I was visibly shaking so he probably thought I was nuts. Don't blame him. Anyway, he looked all flattered (ya, him, flattered! He is so modest & polite in real life!) & goes "Oh! Yeah, umm sure!" I quickly shuffled my purse to my other hand and ran to him. He put his left arm around my right side, and I squeezed him tight (not too tight though! Didn't want to hurt his back.). Then the evil bodyguards flipped out and started yelling "GO OVER THERE!!! MOVE NOW!!!" So I moved where they shoved me & then they started yelling at him. "YOU AREN'T SUPPOSED TO GIVE HUGS!!! DON'T GIVE ANYONE ELSE HUGS!" Then at the crowd, "NOBODY ELSE GETS A HUG!" There was a big sigh and as I started to walk off, Orlando turns away from everybody else and does his cute little nose-scrunchy grin at me, and only me! YAY! I grinned back & then got moved again.

I ran back to my mom and called Jaimie to tell her Orli was here, but the first time she didn't answer and the second time she did. Then I called my best friend (it was the day after her b-day!) and told her "OMG EMILY I JUST MET ORLANDO BLOOM!" She thought I was joking and when she realized I wasn't, she freaked out and kept asking "ARE YOU LOOKING AT HIM? NOW?!?!" I said yes & she was so excited.

Then I saw the nice crew guy who talked to me across the road mouthing "Did you get it?" I nodded & showed him my autograph. Then I started to cross the little road when the body guards suddenly decided Orli needed to go back in. He didn't say he had to go, the meanies were just like "OK Orlando's gotta leave now say bye!" & we all said "Bye! We love you!" He turned and smiled and waved.

Seeing as I was halfway across the street to go talk to the crew guy when they decided to hussle him out at double time, I was bowled over and dropped my mom's cell phone as they rushed him past. One of the guards stopped long enough to say "Don't follow him!" Well, sorry to tell him, but I was there first! I picked up the phone and went over and thanked the crew guy for his help. He was really nice, too. Then, as I was walking away, I heard those girls who had asked me who he was saying "Man, some girl got a hug and they ain't giving nobody else none." They had no right to complain since they didn't even know who he was, so I turned around and said, "That was me!" and left them fuming.

And sorry I typed so much, but that, ladies and gentlemen, was the best day of my entire existance and needed to be recorded in its entirety. I just wanted everybody to know 4 things: Yes, he IS that hot in real life! The hottest guy I've ever seen! Yes, he is SUPER nice in real life and it wasn't an act. Yes, he is very muscular and warm and cuddly and the best hugger ever! And lastly, everyone who wants to meet him should keep trying because dreams do come true!

In Tennessee filming Elizabethtown August 2, 2004 by Orlandoluvr615
I live in Memphis Tennessee. Sometime in June my friends and I went to the arcade resturant downtown. The manager told us that Orlando would be filming Elizabethtown there August 2nd. I immediatley freaked out because I am completly OBSESSED with Orli! I couldn't wait till August to come. Anyway, when the 2nd rolled around my mom and I went back to the arcade around 10:00. When we walked up to the resturant a security lady told us that he was filming across the street in a "pub." We waited for about 20 minutes, then Orlando came out of the building. Another security person handed him his dog (the black one, I don't know his name) and he started walking across the street to his trailor. I started waving and he waved back! Then Orli dissappeard into his trailor for about 30 min. I got as close to his trailor as the security people would let me. Finally he came out! I walked right up to him (skipping some boys that had been waiting since 6:00{lol}) I was wearing a Will!

Turner POTC shirt. He said "Look at you darling, (HE CALLED ME DARLING!!!) Your shirt!" then I handed him the Legolas postcard I wanted him to sign."What's your name darling?"(DARLING AGAIN!!!) I was so nevous I forgot my name! Then all of a sudden it popped into my head. I told him and he gave me an autograph. Then he put his arm around me, like he wasn't sure if it was ok to hug me or not. I just put my arms around him and squeezed. It was the best hug I'd ever gotten!!! Then I stepped back and let some more people get his autograph. He didn't hug anyone else but me!!!! After that he took his dog and went into the civil rights museum to film some more! (I think) It was the best day of my life!!!!!

I live in Louisville, KY and heard from a friend about him filming across the street from his work. I got off work early and got to the area where he was shooting at about 1:30pm. I saw him cross the street in front of me about ten feet away but he had to get to work! He was so gorgeous and so much better looking in real life if you can believe it!

I waited around for him to stop shooting and he came out at 9:00pm...actually apoligizing to people that they had to wait so long! The crowd went wild! There were about 150 people waiting for autographs and I was one of the lucky ones to get TWO (one for a friend) before he had to get back to work. I was wearing my I love Orlando shirt and he said it was nice! He was being so sweet and personalizing his autographs and giving hugs and kisses on the cheeks when asked. EVERYTHING YOU COULD WANT FROM ORLANDO!

I about freaked when those beautiful brown eyes looked into mine and he smiled at me. I was too nervous to ask for a hug but he touched my shoulder when I was leaving to make room for others! I about DIED! He didn't have time to sign everyone's so I left to give my friend her autograph!

I went back at 11:00pm with my friend and were only there about 15 minutes when he came out again! He was really tired but there were only about 15 people there to get autographs...SCORE! I told my friend about him giving hugs and so she asked him to hug me and he did!!! When I'd seen him hug others earlier it looked like lame hugs that you give to strangers but mine was good! And I got his autograph in permanent marker on my favorite jeans! I'm not selling them or putting them away for safe keeping...I'm going to wear them everyday until they're nothing but rags!

Now no matter what happens my whole life through I will always have the memory of those precious moments. And whatever bad things happen to me no one can ever take that amazing day away from me!

I live in Louisville, Kentucky and my aunt and I were going out to lunch when we passed Cave Hill Cemetary. We saw all these cameras and film stuff parked along the entrance road and we are both huge Orly fans so we stopped and waited with some girls in their 20's at the gate because the guard wouldn't let us in. I felt so wierd because I am only 14 but hey, Orlando's worth it! Everyone sat watching the movie trailers in the gas station across the street for over and hour but no luck (we did see Kirsten Dunst and Orlando's dog though). He was rumored to be in a champagne-colored Yukon but we couldn't tell if the vehicle parked halfway behind the gas station was a SUV or pickup truck. We told the girls we would be back after lunch and headed for downtown but right before we got to the gas station the vehicle pulled out and wouldn't you know it, it was his Yukon. We passed right in front of it and I started snapping pictures like mad. My aunt did a quick U-tur n but Orlando was already in the cemetary and long gone (I barely got a glimpse). We circled around to the other entrance but the guard wouldn't let us in there either. He told us to drive into the cemetary to the fork where he could see us to turn around and when we were at the stop sign Orly's Yukon passed right in front of us! I waved and he looked at me and broke into a smile and waved back! I couldn't sit still all though lunch and when i got home I begged my mom to take my sister and me back up there. We circled the cemetary a few times hoping to catch a glimpse but mom said she had other things to do and it had started storming. We were driving past the main entrance on the way home and i yelled "I see the Yukon!!!" luckily we were at a red light and my sister and I jumped out in the middle of the intersection and ran across the street screaming "wait Orlando!!!" He rolled down his window for us in the pouring rain and even had a guy come over and hold an umbr ella over us but I'm sure he still got a little wet! He was so nice, though. My sisters hair was slicked back from the rain and she had a big pig stamp on her head but he just laughed and asked us our names and how we were doing. He is sooo much cuter in real life but the awesome thing was that he was that nice!!! he called us daring and talked to us until this guy in nice clothes with sunglasses on (even while it was raining) goes "it's time to go Mr. Bloom". And my sister and I walked back to the van and he waved at us one last time so I yelled "Bye Orlando!!!" And he threw his head back at yelled all the way across the intersection "BYE!!!" Ughhhhhh--- he is sooo cute. I luv his hair straight like that!

Hi... just wanted to say that I live in Versailles and it was absolutely wonderful getting to live on the street where some of the filming took place. :) It was a lot of fun seeing all the crew, the way they do filming, and of course seeing "Orli" as he is called by his closer friends. We did get to meet him since we had such easy access. LOL We literally walked out the front door and that was that. We knew they were coming since they'd given us letters in the mail but we didn't have any other information beyond that. All we knew was that the movie would be filmed on "said days" and that we would have a difficult time getting in and out of our street (which has only one way in). We did get to meet him and he was very kind to give autographs. I also managed to get a few snap shots but only from a distance since A: he was in the car most of the time (being "pulled" up and down our street) and B: I have four children who were not at all impressed about all the ch aos in our area. LOL (They're all young, btw.) My girlfriend and I decided to get a closer look and it was around their lunch time (roughly 3p) and he brought his dog over to where my friend's children were playing (they're a little older than my kids). Her youngest daughter ended up watching Sidi for about three hours. Orlando returned, apologizing over and over about how long he'd been away (and of course we didn't care!!). Because they had watched his dog for such a long time he allowed a picture to be taken... I wasn't as lucky since my youngest daughter (who is just one) began to scream because the dog was so much bigger than she was. LOL I decided that I'd better take care of my frightened baby instead of figuring out a way to get a picture with Orlando. LOL He was very kind though and it made for a wonderful four days of shooting in our usually quiet town. :)

When I heard that Orlando Bloom was filming in KY my friends (Rachel and Hallie)and I decided to take a last minute road trip from out home town of Cassopolis Michigan to E-town, KY. We left Wednesday the 21st of July at Midnight and drove 7 hours down to KY. When we finally got to Elizabethtown at 7 in the morning we saw all the streets closed off so we knew that we were in the right spot. We found a parking spot by the City Hall building he was filming by. Then we walked down to the times square circle where everone else was. We stayed in that spot for about 5-6 hours not knowing that Orlando wasn't in that spot but down the road where we parked. So when we finally took a break to eat at out car we were walking back to the same spot and 2 very nice ladies that must have knew that we were there to see Orlando Bloom said "girls, Orlando Bloom is signing autographs right over that by the church, but you better hurry because hes been signing for a while". We ran as fast as we could after thanking them and hoped we would get there in time. I couldn't believe it when i saw him in the yellow trucker hat. I seriously almost passed out. We got maybe 3 people away from him and then he had to stop signing. We were so upset. But we sat on the sidewalk and when he was driving by in his tann-ish, sliver-ish GMC i yelled "ORLANDO" and he sat up and smiled and waved at me. So we stayed in that spot and when he came back again to sign we didn't get to meet him again. So after getting poured on by rain we stayed there hoping that he would come back but they left right around 6 without signing anymore. We were so upset that we were ready to cry. We started talking to this guy that was with the whole movie production crew and he told us that he was gone on him way to louisville. We asked him where they would be filming in Louisville and he didn't know. So then we were talking to another guy and he didn't know anymore then the other guy and we told him that we came all the way from Michigan and haven't sle pt in over 30 hours and we had to tell him about out youth pastors daughter, Samantha who happens to be Orlando's biggest little fan and that she made a card for him that we didn't get to give to him, but he went completely out of his way and talking to like 7 different people and seceretly came back and told us that he was staying at the Brown Hotel and was going to be filming at the Cave Hill Cemetery. So we spent the night at my friend Rachel's aunts house in Nashville that night and got up the very next morning to leave for Louisville. We found Cave Hill and parked right down the road. We stood in front for about 12 minutes and it started to down poor. We tried to stay dry under a tree right out side of the gates but it didn't help. We were completely drenched. Then we saw kirsten Dunst drive out so we knew that Orlando had to be coming out soon.

Then not but 3 minutes later we saw his same GMC pull out and HE WAS IN THE PASSENGER SIDE!!!!!!!!!! we yelled "ORLANDO!" and he waved and told his driver something and he rolled down his window and motioned for us to come over to him. (We were the only people there standing in the rain) We went over to him and he said "OH my gosh, your standing in the rain" and i said "yeah for you"! Then he signed autographs and i said "Can i take your picture" and He said "Well i'm not supposed to let anyone take my picture but because your staning in the rain go ahead but hurry" Then the Nazi in the back stepped out and told me no. (JERK!!) so i didn't get a picture. But he was so sweet and i told him how we came from MI to E-town and didn't get to meet him so we came here to see him. He said "aww that was sweet" and then Rachel told him about our youth pastors daughter and gave him the card she made for him that enclosed a pic of her hugging him legolas cardboard cutout. And he yelled "OH MY GOSH, THAT IS SOOOOO SWWWEEETTT" and he was smiling so big. He loved it. Then he said "Guys you really need to go and get out of this raid, i don't want you to get sick" so he blew us a kiss and shook all our hands and said bye. So we ran to the car extreamly excited. Then we went and got a hotel room and went back later to Cave hill. But then here we quite a few other people there and all of a sudden his GMC pulled up and a guy got out and said that one section could come over and get autogrpahs and then out section, so when i got over there i got a autograph for my freind Jennifer and asked him i i could have a hug if it were at all possibel and he said "yeah sure"! Man it was so amaizing. It wasn't just a pat on the back, it was a tight thight hug. I was so happy. Then we went back to out hotel room and decided that we would come back around 1:30am because he was filming until 2:30 and we wern't there but 10 minutes and he pulled out again and stopped and talking to all of us (we made really nice friends with the other girls)the first thing he said was man your all still here and asked us if we all had parents that were worried about us and then the other girls told Orlando how they got to meet Kate Bosworth and they told him how nice she was and how sweet she was and he said " She is so sweet, yeah, i haven't got to see her yet" and all of us melted. Then my friend Hallie lipped to him can i take your picture and he he lipped back yeah go ahead and she got like thee best pic of him. It was so sweet he coverd Siti's eyes so the flash wouldn't hurt them. Then he said "well i'm very tired to i better go, i'll see you later." and he pulled out. Then he was at the stop light and yelled out to all of us "GO HOME" it was amaizing. THen the next day we got to meet Kate, and let me just say that she is such a sweet heart and i wish her and Orlando all the luck in the world. i told he that i think shes a lucky girl and then she said "yeah i like to think so" and then laughed. Then right after that we got to meet Kirsten and she was a real sweet heart too. Hope you like the encounter. And one more thing. Girls, i f you haven't ment he and really want to..DONT GIVE UP. BE PERSISTANT AND FOLLOW YOU INSTINCTS. trust me. thats how we got to do it. DONT" GIVE UP.

In Kentucky filming Elizabethtown July 2004 by Meggie
I met Orlando Bloom today at Lynn's Paradise Cafe in my city, Louisville in Kentucky with my sister Ellie and best friend Joanna. He was wearing his 'Buddhist Punk' shirt, and the hat that we've seen him wear with it, and jeans. Kate was there also, looking gorgeous as usual. They were both very kind and gracious, and my friend Joanna tells me that I had a stupid grin on my face the entire time! But I mean who wouldn't! He told me he couldn't take pictures ( I already knew that from other fan encounters) but that he'd love to sign something. He asked for my name, and then repeated it. "Meggie, how do you spell that?" Awww! And to hear him say my name was incredible!! He was absolutely stunning, and althought I was able to carry on a conversation i can't remember all that I said. I know I mentioned something about "How do you like Louisville?" and "I hope the filming (Elizabethtown) is going well." When we were about to leave, he said, "Nice to meet you." Sincere ly, he said that. Oh, and I did touch his hand when he handed back my autograph paper! He talked in a "Lou-a-vul" accent the whole time. (faints) Right now I'm on cloud 9!

I did talk with Kate Bosworth a bit, while he was signing the back my picture. Kate smiled at me, she was so nice. I remember wishing him good luck filming and he perked up at that and asked if we knew Cameron Crowe's stuff, and we said we did. He was very complementary of Cameron.

It's the return of the infamous beanie. He looked so adorable in it! And from what I could tell, it seems our Mr. Bloom has been working out. I promise he is 100 times hotter in person! Orlando was incredibly genuine and not the least bit pretentious. He sounded almost completely like a native Kentuckian, with a hint of the British accent, but only because I was listening for it. It was paradise indeed! He made eye contact with me!

Me and my friend Natasha are huge Orlando Bloom fans and better late than never, we decided to head over to Kentucky and see if we could catch a glimpse of him during the closing week of filming. We left Chicago at about 12:30 in the morning and headed out for Elizabethtown, KY - hoping we'd find some kind of clue to as to where Orlando's where abouts were. So, we get there at about 5 in the morning and the tourism place didn't open for another hour so we slept and then woke up and asked the woman if she knew anything. She said we just missed him a few days ago but they were still filming. She said to try Versailles - so on the road we went again for another 45 minutes - 1 hour. We arrive in Versailles and ask the Tourism people what was going on. They said we missed Orlando by a week or two. So we asked them if they had ANY clue as to where he possibly might be. After much thought into it, we decided we were going to need to head to Louisville and possibly, we'd find some ounce of Orlando. So we drive around for about an hour and we would get to a certain point and then turn around - we went down Main Street all of like 6 times. So we finally call the tourism place in Louisville and they told us that they were filming at the Brown Hotel. So we headed over there and just kind of watched the crew set up and everything. Which was actually pretty cool. So we moved towards the other side, where the entrance was. We pretty much just chilled out on the sides, didn't really have any action. Then the police officers told us to start to line up behind the line. I kept thinking Orlando was inside already and that's when Natasha grabbed my arm and yanked me. Out of the trailer across the street was Orlando, with Siti of course - and everyone was calling out his name. We took two pictures until the security told us not to. He smiled and was very rushed but promised to get autographs later. This was at about 12ish - we waited till they had break, which was 6 o'clock. First, out came Kirstin Dunst. I felt kind of bad though because all the attention was focused on the door, waiting for Orlando - and only a select few went to see Kirstin. Cameron Crowe came out at one point, promised he'd be back for autographs. So, after about an hour, I turned to Natasha and told her I was starving and the girl next to me who I just met was hungry too - so we went to McDonald's. We come out like 2 minutes later - fans are SWARMING around and we were so mad we might have missed him! So we put all our stuff down and rushed to the crowd. Natasha had my Pirates of the Caribean booklet and I could NOT find her. So I took a piece of paper from the girl I went to get food with and waited. I walked up to him and smiled and said, "Hey, what's up?" And he's like, "Nothing. So, you a Louisvilletian?" He handed me his signature - And I shook my head and I go, "Nope! Straight out of Chicago!" So he looked up, smiled and grabbed the paper back and was like, "You are awesome!" So he put, "Thanks for the long trip to see me!" So then he grabbed my arm and said, "Thanks Doll. Have a safe trip back." And I waved bye. All in all a super rockin' experience. Orlando was just so chill and even though it was total chaos when he came out - he was very calm and talked to everyone and was just so cheery. It was an awesome awesome experience!

I had met Orlando and Kate last Friday night and my 6 year old daughter was so upset that she didn't get to go. I decided to take her downtown last night with hopes that we would see him again.

When we went into the hotel, a crew member escorted us past the set to the stairs so we could get to the front desk. (A friend of ours works at the hotel and we were taking him dinner.) After we dropped of his food we had to get back up to the garage. Oopps... we got off the elevator and accidentally walked right into the set. It looked like they were filming a wedding scene. Cameron Crowe was sitting in his director's chair and looked at us as we walked through. They were on a break, the lighting guys were working. They were all so nice and appolgetic for being in the way, causing disruption to the ordinary routine of the hotel.

Once we made it through to the garage we decided to go out front and see what was happening. As soon as we walked up Orlando came out of the front door with three police officers and two body gaurds. WOW DID HE EVER LOOK GOOD! There was a swarm of fans (men and women). One at a time Orlando signed autographs.

One of the police officers saw Elly (my daughter) and asked people to let her through. When Orlando saw her, he smiled so big and asked her name, and told her how cute she was. She was so excited that she asked him to sign her shirt right over her heart. He said "Sure!" Then he gave her a big kiss on her right cheek and hugged her so tight. She didn't want to let go.

Once she had her turn, they moved her back behind Orlando and his staff. We had a minute to talk to John, his assistant. We thanked him and the rest of the staff for treating the fans so well and taking the time to meet and greet us. He said "He loves his fans, and enjoys meeting them!" He was so nice (as he hugged me).

The only bad part was that they wouldn't let anyone take photographs. They kept yelling "NO PICTURES!" There seems to be a contract agreement that he can't have photos made while he is in the process of filming. So we respectfully did not take pictures. But Elly nor I will ever forget that moment. :) She slept with her shirt on last night...

I had the most awesome experience this past Tuesday (July 27th, 2004) when I got to meet Orlando Bloom in front of the Brown Hotel in Louisville, KY. I live in Louisville, so it wasn't a big deal to drive over there, but it was a big deal to wait 5 1/2 hours in front of the Brown waiting for him to come out. Eventually a nice crew guy told me which door he would come out, but he didn't know when. We waited & waited, and at about 8:34 he came out for the sole purpose of signing autographs. He also had about 6 bodyguards with him, and you could tell they were reluctant to let him come out at all but he wanted to, so ha!

Anyway, I got in line (not a line exactly, more like a mass of swarming fans) and finally when my turn came I was in shock. My whole body was shaking! The best way to describe my shock is this- it might seem odd to you, but just think about it- you see him all the time in magazines and you look at his picture... it's sooo weird when the person from the picture looks back at you! Anyway, I handed him my life story Orlando Bloom magazine to sign, and he did (With a heart, and his name, though all you can distinguish of it is O...l...Bl..., then an X at the end). Shockingly, he kept in character the whole time and spoke with a PERFECT American accent. It was amazing! If you didn't know better and someone let you hear a voice clip of him saying something in his normal accent and then in American English, you would probably say he was really American. That's how great at voice acting he is.

He was so polite and said "Hi!" and turned to his bodyguard and said "Can I have another pen? This one's out of ink." just normal as you please! Then I worked up the nerve to thank him for his autograph and ask "I'm sorry if this sounds crazy, but can I please have a hug?" He looked surprised for a minute and then acted flattered. He was like "Oh! Yeah, umm sure!" So he wraps his left arm around my right side and his bodyguards look over and go (to him) "You can't give anyone else hugs!!!" (to the crowd) "No more hugs!!! Don't ask for any more hugs!!!" (to me) "No more hugs!!! Go over there, now! MOVE!!!" When I was walking away, Orlando turned to me and did his little crinkly nosed smile (I can't really explain it better than that, so I hope you know what I mean) and it was very adorable. I think he kinda did that by way of apology for his grumpy bodyguards. Yes, I know it is there job and all, and I am glad that they keep him safe, but they were rather rude to me. Not just then, but earlier. I didn't want to go into the whole 5 1/2 hours before he actually came out- this took long enough.

But he was so polite and stayed for several minutes saying "Hi, how are you, whats up" that sort of thing. He was incredibly nice and sweet and down to earth. Not at ALL conceited. Very normal, in fact. Even though I feel sorry that no one else got a hug, the greedy little part of me is kind of glad that I got the only one!!! Srry to those of you whose hug I stole, but I have waited for years to meet him. And to those people who say he is a horrible actor and stupid or mean or whatever, you have no clue! He is such a gentleman, and the best actor I know of! You might disagree with me, & thats ok its your opinion, but I believe he is the greatest. To all of you who hope to meet him, keep trying, be persistent and patient, and it will probably all pay off in the end!

I met Orlando, again two days ago. The first time there was a big hurd of girls so it was wierd. But, I was stuck by the cops, and his mean personal asst.(who spits when he talks) and a table. On the other side of the table was Orlando so I got to stare for like 15 mins. The cop finally had to get him sign mine. Then, that night he came out and there was only 15 of us. It was way better. Here is my converstation with him...So, I walked up to him, right in his face with big eyes and said:ORLANDO I KNOW THIS IS WIERD AND IF YOU DON`T WANT TO DO IT IT IS OK, I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND.BUT, I WAS SKIPPING OVER HERE EARLIER AND I RIPPED MY PANTS.(HE GAVE A FUNNY FACE, BUT CUTE)WILL YOU SIGN THEM? O:SURE,I WILL SIGN ANYWHERE YOU WANT. DUDE, HE TOUCHED MY BUM!!! IT WAS PRETTY FUNNY. WHILE HE WAS DOING THAT I TOLD HIM I LOVE HIS DOG AND I PLAYED WITH IT YERSTURDAY. AND IT WAS THE GREATEST,CUTEST,FUN DOG. AND IF IT HAS KIDS I WANT ONE. O: I WILL GIVE YOU A CALL AND LET YOU KNOW. I ASKED FOR A HUG AND GOT IT, WHICH I GOT IN TROUBLE FOR TOUCHING HIM. AND WE WERE TALKING ABOUT HOW GREAT HIS DOG IS. WELL, I MOVED OVER SO HE COULD SIGN THINGS FOR OTHER PEOPLE. AND, HE WAS STILL TALKING TO ME ABOUT HIS DOG WHILE HE WAS SIGNING THINGS. I`m trying to give him my number for Sidi`s pup. Last night I stayed at the Brown. My best friend Lynn and I went to the shooting (last shooting in Louisville :( ) We were there for 11 hours! We were the ones who stayed the longest. By the end of the taping, we didn't want an autograph we just wanted to talk to him. But, that didn`t happen. But, I think that showed that we are true friends and not bc he is so freaking beautiful (but he is). And, I will truely sad that they are leaving and I told the crew that. We have become good friends. We are going back to say goodbye to them tonight. I'm going to cry tommorow when Orlando leaves. Orlando is the nightest guy in the world. God Bless him!

I live in Canton, Ohio, so when I heard that Orlando was filming in Kentucky my parents and I decided to take the chance and drive down to see him. We drove down to Elizabethtown first and saw that nothing was being filmed at the moment, so we stopped at a tourists information building. I asked the woman behind the counter about the movie, and she said that they wouldn't be there until Thursday, but she told us that they were filming in Versailles today. So, we headed up to Versailles and drove around town until my mom and I saw some strange trucks parked near a school parking lot. Then, we saw a road block, so we knew something was going on. We parked and I walked up to where there was a crowd of people and saw the Clark Funeral Home sign, and I knew that I was on the Elizabethtown set. Some of the people told us that we had just missed Orlando signing autographs at noon, so I was worried that he wouldn't sign again. We waited about 4 hours (all that time was worth it though!) and we finally saw a tan SUV pulling out of the parking lot, and my mom grabbed me and said "It's Orlando!!!" We got in line for an autograph and when he saw my photo he said "Oh Yeah" like he didn't remember it (it was a picture of him on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno). I asked for a hug and he gave me a big one, and my mom said his nose was in my hair :) My mom got a pretty good picture of him--even though you weren't suppose to take any! After that I broke down and started crying! I couldn't help it! I've wanted to meet him for so long. My mom and I watched as he signed other people's photos, and after everyone had gotten an autograph one of the crew members said "Ok that's everybody" and Orlando peeked out from underneath the umbrella and said "Did I get everybody??" and he looked straight at me and gave me the biggest smile (probably because I was still crying)! I will always remember that!! I also took a picture with his dog, Siti. Overall, Orlando was very genuine, humble and very gentlemanly. It was a once in a lifetime experience that I will never forget!!

In Kentucky filming Elizabethtown July 18, 2004 by Stella
I went for a quick road trip-vacation in Kentucky with my mom over this past weekend and ended up spending a lot of time at this nice resort in Lexington, where we happened to hear the cast and crew of "Elizabethtown" were staying while filming in Versailles. When we were in the lounge on Saturday evening we overheard some men who apparentally worked on the set <I don't know what jobs though> discussing the filming they had been doing earlier. One of them was saying how Cameron was saying that Orlando had really clicked into his character that day, that he was really "Drew" to him now. The guy was also saying how the camera loves him <of course>. And there were a couple of young girls running around with his autograph screaming about how "He's the hottest man ALIVE!"

But we went by there for breakfast the next morning after going to a horse showing nearby and just before we needed to be getting on home. Well, my mom had to go to the bathroom and I went wandering out one side of the building promising I'd find her later. As I was walking around the outside the building, a group of girls, maybe 12-years-old, were running in the direction I was walking saying something about a dog. As I came around the corner, I saw the dog they were talking of and that it was attached to a leash that was being held by a person inside of a nearby car. The car door was open, but all I could see of the person inside was his sneakers. But not a moment later, Orlando poked his head out the door and waved - he was talking on a cell phone, but he said he was looking for another one he'd lost in the car, but he'd be over in a second. The girls petted the dog - who turned out to be Sidi - and I stood back a bit, as I was not part of their group. When Orlando stepped out of the car, he seemed to be staring in my direction for a moment, and I just smiled, though I wasn't sure if he was actually looking at me because he had sunglasses on. He signed autographs for the little girls, and Sidi walked over to me and I petted him, until the girls' dads came and got them, insisting they were going to be late for something. Then I approached Orlando, all on my own, and obviously quite nervous. He wasn't allowed to take pictures because they were filiming the movie - "You know I'm filming a movie?" He said with a big, sweet smile <and sincerely believable regret about the pictures>. But he could give me an autograph <he said this as though he were hoping that would do>. I hope I seemed grateful, but I can't honestly remember how I actually acted, I was paying too much attention to him. I didn't have a picture handy, or even any paper, so he ended up signing the back of an old theater ticket I found in my wallet <which I might mention is covered with Legolas pins, but I don't know if he noticed.> A woman with two young girls approached then with a camera. "I was just telling this young lady" - he indicated myself - "that I'm not allowed to take pictures" he told them, as my heart sank realizing I wouldn't be alone with him any longer, no chance to have any sort of actual conversation then. He signed autographs for the two girls as well and then waved good-bye to us all with his ever-sweetening smile, and I've been floating on air ever since. He signed my autograph with a heart and a kiss and I'd send it in if only I had a scanner. Sorry.

I met Orlando thursday night!! My little sister and I make a point to walk by his hotel or what we think is his hotel almost every night hoping to see him and last night we did, he was standing off to the side of the hotel with his dog and some other man. At first I didn't think it was him cause his hair is shorter than I thought it was and darker and he was smoking but my little sister knew it was him and she made this funny sound and jumped up and down. As we were walking up to him he noticed we were coming and he handed his cigarette to the guy and waved his hand around him to get rid of the smoke. The dog was really friendly and jumped up on my sister but the man pulled it down and said he was sorry. We said hi and Orlando said Hello and I almost melted his voice is so wonderful and his smile is great! He seems really tall and big I felt really small near him. My sister asked him if he smoked and he laughed and said not really and told her it was a bad nasty habit and that only nasty people smoked and He pointed to the guy next to him and said like him and they laughed. He was so friendly and nice and talked to us for a few minutes. He was soooo nice to my sister he bent down to talk to her and talked really slow like people do when they talk to little children. My sister told him she was getting Ned Kelly for her birthday and he asked how old she was turning then said the movie wasn't suitable for 9 year olds and that she should watch pirates instead and my sister told him she watches it almost everyday and he laughed and patted her head. I really never had a crush on him until now he looks so much better in person if you can believe that! He hugged us both and said he had to go in. His shirt was damp with sweat when we hugged and the whole way home my sister and me were screaming that we had Orlando sweat on our hands! From what I remember he smelt like cigarettes and coconuts really sweet smelling. We are going to try and go down again at the same time tonight with our mom and a camera so hopefully get a picture of him.

My sister reminded me that when he gave her his autograph he spelt her name wrong. He wrote Marissa heart OB and she told him it was only one S and he laughed and turned the paper over and signed To Marisa with 1 S heart OB! He spelt my name right I wish he didn't because all I got was Elizabeth heart OB.

Then yesterday My little sister who has be the luckiest person on the planet was with my mother and her friend and they bumped into Orlando again walking his dog and he remembered her and said hi before she could! He said "Hello Marisa with one S!" my mother didn't know who he was so she gave him a weird look and he introduced himself and then she was like gosh I didn't know it was you! LOL His dog was being really playful and tugging at the leash and he had one of those retractable leashed and Orlando released the tension and the dog stumbled and fell and Orlando said that there is never a dull moment with the dog. I think its name is sidy and that dog is very cheeky and has a taste for expensive woman's shoes and gum which isn't a good thing and he pointed to gum stuck in the dogs coat LOL! He was wearing really ugly shoes and my sister told him so and he went "awww I love these." Oh gosh my sister also told him that his hair was messy and he started to pat it down! and said he had a bad case of bedhead and laughed. My mom was all shocked that my sister would say that to him and apologized and he just laughed and said he my sister was a doll! He signed a bank envelope, my mother had for my sister's friend and gave another one to my sister and spelt her name right this time he winked at her when he gave it back and said that now she has two and she should sell one on ebay! He talked to my mom about the weather and then said he better get going because his babysitters get upset if he is gone too long they will think he and sidy got doggienapped and have people out looking for them! He then said goodbye to my sister and told her to always keep her honesty! My mom is now a big fan and my sister is on cloud 9 cause of this! He has to be one of the nicest people in the world!!

Madrid Airport January 6, 2004 by Sebastian
Just a quick note to say that I was on the same flight with Orlando from London to Madrid the day before yesterday (Jan 6th). I noticed him at the baggage pick up in Madrid as he was standing next to me waiting for his bags. He was travelling with an older man, which I'm assuming was his agent. They had quite a bit of luggage. I believe that he's here in Spain to begin filming with Ridley Scott up North near Navarra. As luck should have it, I had a copy of the TWO TOWERS dvd pack in my carry-on bag and I asked him to sign it. He did so graciously. We shook hands, wished each other a happy new year and I was on my way. In any event, it was quite a treat to meet him.

Jay Leno Show December 5, 2003 by Samantha
I attended the taping of the Jay Leno Show with Orlando. He came on cute as ever. When the show ended he went over to his people to ask if he could go to the fans since all were screaming his name. She told him no. He kept talking to her trying to convince her and telling her he ahd to go to the fans. He looked so sad when he couldn't go. He kept waving at everyone. Then he looked up at me, right in my eyes and waved at me. The thing was, I wasn't waving at him. He waved at me first. I guess he remembered me from two days before when i gave him the fan book. It was so cool thnough! He recognized me. He waved and had a "oh i know you" expression and then I waved back and he smiled! It was so sweet!

Afterwards I went backstage to say hi to him but his people rushed him out because he had an appointment he had to get to. I could tell he really wanted to go over to all the fans backstage. But he rolled down his window and waved, or so my friends told me. Even though I didn't get to talk to Orlando again, it was an amazing experience cuz he saw me!

Return of the King Premiere in LA December 3, 2003 by Jamie
Well, my and my best friend and fellow Orli lover, Autumn took a rode trip to LA for the premire. We stayed in a ritzy hotel, hoping the actors would stay there also. Unfortunatly, we didn't see them there. We woke up at 5;30 am on the 4th to get a good spot. We made friends with 2 guys that were there also. They were both gay, and we had a great time talking about how hot Orli is for like 10 hours. WE were so excited by the time the actors started to arrive. Elijah Wood walked by but we both hate him. He came by to sign autographs to a couple of screaming girls. our two new friends screamed for him and he came over. He thought that we called so he asked where our pens were to give us autographs. Autumn said "We don't want autograph from you. We're waiting fro ORLI!!!" Then he gave us this sad look and muttered something like "Orli, eh?" and then I felt bad so I was like, "Well, you are cool, too!" but he had already started to walk away after signing autographs for 'the boys'. I felt bad, but just then- a car pulled up and Orlando and his mum got out! I didn't see them at first, but I could tell he was there because this huge scream went up. All of these perople were screaming- ORLANDO!!!! He was signing autographs and he got like 3 people away from us, but then some security guards pulled him back. We were really bummed that he didn't get to us, but there were some girls screaming really loud around us and he dashed over to us and signed more autographs!!! Autumn and I both got one!!! It was an awesome night and I'll never forget it!!

Return of the King Premiere in LA Dec. 3, 2003 by Tianne (Marie) and Jasmin (Zas1)
It was a dark and a windy night.....oh wait. Okay, it was dark but the wind was the incessant waving of calenders and pictures and women fanning themselves. And we were right in front! We arrived at around 1 o'clock in the afternoon and we were dismayed at a looong line of people starting at the Starbucks, obviously there for the premiere. We grinned at the girls wearing 'I love Orlando' and 'Bloom Me' t-shirts. Amateurs. Ha ha. So we schmooze with a cop or two, a couple movie theatre workers, and yes, even fellow fans to get the scoop on where to camp out. Some die hards had been there since 5:30 in the morning....and looked it. We knew better. So. We decide after much deliberation to stake out the corner across from the venues that offered a sweet view of the limos pulling up. Jasmin is going down as a clairvouyant because she said (en route to Rite Aid to buy the stuff for the banner) 'I've got good feelings!' because Tianne was worried we'd miss out. Well, well, well...Jasmin could make money if she follows those feelings!! As the night progressed, Jasmin and Tianne were sprawled on the filthy LA sidewalk scribbling away to get the banner ready. We had 6 posterboard sheets, 4 permanent markers (industrial strength, mind you) and water for the wait ahead while we made the sign. We had a momentary panic when a nasty blop of bird poop hit the last O in Orlando and Jasmin (what a trooper) went into the donut shop to get a napkin to wipe it off. Oh man, so if you look close, the black little heart on the last letter on the sign isn't love, it's to cover up the pink being wiped off from the poop. Man, now THAT'S dedication!

Okay, back to the story. The crowds piled up and Diane, Candi, Jenna, and Gracie held our spots at the corner while we colored away. Once it was finished, we taped it to the barricade tight enough to withstand nuclear war. We should've had more tape. Finally the night drew in and people were packed. Not long after having the sign up, we got a ton of attention. ABC news, channel 7 in LA did a special interview of Jasmin and Tianne regarding the '10,000 miles' phenomena we had on the sign. Tianne went first and the interviewer asked her name, where she was from, and how they racked up 10,000 miles. She explained it was mainly her friend Jasmin that had come from Finland and how others had met up in LA from Seattle, Chicago, Fresno, San Francisco, etc just for this night. The newscaster asked what she'd do if Orlando came over, and would he? Tianne grinned and said, 'I hope so!' and 'He'd better!' and then cut to Jasmin! She was cool as she talked about her au pair program, how she'd worked so hard to get here and the night had come! We later found out that Tianne's bit got cut (thank goodness) and that Jas with credits and all to her name, was on ABC for the ROTK premiere! A star is born! So, that was the first interview.....next was New Line Cinema! This curly haired guy with an accent starts cutting across the crowd on the street in between various cameras for shows like TRL (the guy said, 'Scream for TRL' and we did) and CNN, Reuters, NBC, UPN, E!, Exxtra, oh geez, tons! so the New Line guy starts asking questions about why we were there and what we thought of the film. Two girls to the left of Tianne didn't answer much so she cut in with, 'It's an epic adventure! The costumes are incredible and it's a film legacy!' So the guy comes over, mic in hand and we in an impromptu interview answer similar questions like 'Where are you from' and '10,000 miles?!' and then he produces a release form. Tianne, Jasmin, and Jenna put their signatures and here's the whopper!!! The man tells us that this interview would possibly be included (cross your fingers and toes and eyes here!) on the extended version of the DVD, fourth disc if the big boys want the footage. Then, the cameraman pans onto the sign, scrolls up, and the accent guy from New Line puts a mic in Tianne's face and says 'Why are you here? and Who are you here to see?' Of course we yell 'Orlando!' and okay, on the treason side, Tianne pipes in: 'Elijah!' and then suddenly it pauses and the guy focuses on the sign and Tianne does an intro saying, "We're here in LA, each of us travelling to accumulate a distance of 10,000 miles to be here tonight to see Orlando and Return of the King. We're all part of the Orlando Bloom Files website group and we're excited to be here!' (not verbatim, Tianne could've whisteled dixie and started clogging for all we remember) but that's the gist of it! Due to cars and noise, they did three or four takes on that intro and the camera guy would go down to the sign and then up to our faces and the guy would say 'Okay and up! And scream! and wait, wait...' and then do it again. Finally they got it right and let's hope we're on the DVD! Whew!

As the sun set, around 6 or so, the security guy we'd been flirting with that we named Brian, but later found out was Luke, said, 'The limos are about to arrive!' And they did! Ian McKellan was first and looked dapper as can be! Sweet chain link tie and some great leather pants. He was all jazzed and Jasmin shook his hand. Next to come was Sean Astin. He looked handsome and Jasmin called out, 'Sean! Gimme a hug!' and he certainly did! On top of that Jasmin laid a fat smooch on his cheek! She said his skin was a little scruffy as though he hadn't shaved. Oh heck, it was fun! Next was Billy Boyd. The man is a nut. He is pretty little and looked well, darn cute in real life! He got in front of Tianne who was screeching and bouncing and had her hands out to hug the guy and well, he just imitated her, screaming, bouncing, and reaching out. But no hug. Maybe Tianne should've calmed down because he moved on...with more screaming. Following Billy was John Rhys-Davies. He isn't really a heartthrob type, but really, in actuality he's a true gentleman. Quite handsome in his suit with a nice red bowtie. He chatted a bit but no hugs. Sorry Gimli. In the meantime, the lights were bright, the theatre marquee was all over the place LORD OF THE RINGS and the crowd was insane! We sometimes got our view blocked by UCLA buses and whatnot and boos would result. So, the anticipation was high when oh yes, yesiree, Orlando showed up! Some security pointed out the sign to him and the minute he popped out of the limo the decibels were off the charts! I bet they could've heard us in space. We screamed and he waved and we waved and it was madness! He darted over and went to the right of us, down the street. Out of nowhere a woman with a small blue AOL camera says, 'Orlando wants this picture' and we all leaned in and she took the shot of the sign. That photo was the group picture with the banner that ended up on AOL's website. As Orlando made his way through the fans, the crowds chanted 'Or-Land-Do!' and finally the moment had come! Jasmin says, quote: 'I tried to take pictures but my camera didn't work and so I had my picture and I handed it out to him and said, 'Sign this please!' and he signed it! And then he proceeded to Tianne' Oh yes, he did. Orlando got in front of Tianne and she leaned over and said, 'Hi Orlando! We made this sign for you!' and he looked really excited, you could see it in his face, in his eyes. He was genuinely pleased. He looked like a giddy little boy, but so very good looking. His hair was dark and shiny and not curly like it's been looking lately. Very Pirate looking, in a way. He is small in build, but tall, but you can tell he's not big...but really, it's Orlando- He's stunning. So, Tianne continues and says, 'My friend Jasmin came all the way from Finland and some people came from Seattle and Chicago, just to see you!' At this point, Tianne gets whacked in the head by a calender and ducks down mid sentence and oh joy! Orlando ducks down WITH Tianne to keep on talking to her...as he leans back up, listening to her he says, very excitedly, 'No way!' (the open mouthed photo is right as he says this) and Tianne says, 'Really!' and he says, 'Are you serious!' and Tianne says, 'Yes! I am!' and Orlando just makes this gleeful face, kinda squints and laughs a bit and Tianne says, 'Orlando, can I have a hug?' and he says, 'Sure!' and then according to Jasmin, Tianne was so far gone at this point, Orlando leans in, and with a big pucker on his lips, air kissed Tianne's cheek (dang it) and then Tianne said, 'Can I have a picture?' and Orlando smiles, agrees and here's the great part! He totally turns around while everyone looks on in utter amazement (Jasmin is seeing stars at this point we think), Orlando completely snuggles up to Tianne as she leans in over the barricade and he really smashes his gloriously smooth cheek (Tianne gave him a quick kiss before the cheek smashing, sigh...no recollection other than it happened, again the dazed factor comes in) up against Tianne's face and holds the camera out. Tianne the dork, didn't have her disposable camera wound, so he clicks it and it didn't work, at this point, still leaning quite hard against Tianne, he flips the camera over and winds it HIMSELF saying, 'It's not ready' and then, flashes a grin, Tianne sneaks her arm around him and totally hugs him (feeling the curve of his chest under his warm shirt) and click, the photo of the night was taken by OB himself! He paused for a second and then leaned back up, turned around and handed the camera back with a smile and since it was still pandemonium headed down the line saying, "I'll be back for another round!" Everyone was freaking out and Tianne was floating somewhere above LA. What a night!! But wait...that's not all!

Orlando made his way to more fans and eventually got pulled away against his will to enter the theatre. He even resisted the publicists and people around him and they literally yanked him down the street to the venue and he pointed back as if to say, "I'm coming back!" Some time later with the stars still arriving (David Hasselhoff, Adrien Brody, Rob Schneider, Robin Williams, etc) a man from the security comes up to us and says, 'Who came 10,000 miles?' and we all were like, 'Uh all of us!' and he whips out a thing that looks like a bumper sticker from a stack of them in his arms and Tianne's thinking, 'ooh souvenirs...go us' and he hands one to Jasmin. Turns out when she said, "I came from Finland!" she scored a ticket in!! Jasmin was excited and pretty soon was skipping down the red carpet like a star herself! It got wild when we realized that Lij showed up but just darted into the SAME theatre that Jasmin had gone into..and then! There went Liv, Dom, and Billy, and Orlando!! All into the same theatre as Jasmin instead of the theatre with the other stars! What luck that girl has!!! Talk about having 'good feelings'! So, this is what happened inside, via Jasmin: 'I got in. And I found my seat and I was waiting for the movie to start. I of course was happy to see the movie, but then again, I was like, I don't get to see the stars. So, I was thinking, 'When does the movie start?' when I see Dom coming down the aisle! I said to him, 'Dom, you're great!!' and he looked so sexy (big eyes at saying that) and he totally comes back to me, shakes my hand, and says sincerely, 'thank you'. Ahhh. Yeah. And then comes Sean Astin, I say the same thing to him and he kinda waves to me and goes down with his daughter and then Peter comes and I yell, 'Good job Peter!' but I don't think he heard me. And so the others come and THEN! HE comes! I had a split second to come up with something to say to him and he was like already past me and then I said, 'Orlando!' He looks back at me and comes to me, shakes my hand (he was in a hurry), and I just say breathlessly, 'Thank you!' He nods to me and goes with the other stars.

Someone started talking but I didn't hear a thing. I was looking at Orlando who was being head bonked by Billy in the side. Liv was in the way but Orlando ducked over back and forth around Liv since I was doing the same thing, kinda stretching around to get a good look, so he was teasing me (I hope it was me he was looking at)..so Peter starts to talk, blah blah ORLANDO, and starts to introduce the cast. Everyone applauds as one by one they go to the front and then he says, 'And as Legolas, Orlando Bloom!' and I totally stand up (only one to do so) and I clap like mad and then sit when the next actor is introduced. Orlando laughed and I hope he was laughing at me. And then they go back, everyone went down the center and I was kind of by the edge and the stars are clapping and everyone is clapping, and Orlando and Ian are the last ones to go and I make eye contact with Orlando and he kinda teasingly, leans forward and claps AT ME! Then they're gone and poof!

The movie starts! It was a beautiful movie. Legolas is so beautiful! And there is going to be a heck of a stunt with Legolas, but there isn't enough Legolas in the movie!' Whew!! We outside the theatre watched as the stars, including Orlando, exited to head across the street to their theatre and at this point, we scream but a lot of people had left. Tianne leaned over the barricade as everyone else was screaming and waved at Orlando. He pointed at her, waved and then leaned back, put his hands over his heart and grinned. After that, Orlando heads to greet the fans who had actually waited and PAID to hang out in front of Starbuck's. They hadn't gotten a thing all night, so they went crazy! The crowds chanted and Orlando finished over there, waving at us and smiling and came back across the street over to the left of us, signed things, took pictures and eventually made his way back. Tianne moved out of the way so Diane and Candi could snag a few pics and get an autograph or two and that was it! Orlando said to the people to our right, 'You guys are mad for hugs tonight, but I've got to get down the line!' and the crowd was just wild, but eventually he headed back to his limo and the last we saw was him bending over (yes, bending over in our direction) and jumping head first into the limo. Orlando did take his time as much as he could to greet and sign, but few actually got a picture WITH him. Sigh. As the night wore on, the stars eventually do interviews with the press by the red carpet and bleachers and a lot of the crowd had gone. We waited and it paid off! Elijah finished up his interviews and approached us from the left signing things and taking pictures. Tianne's neice Jenna asked Lij for a hug and he said yes and Tianne said, 'Hey Elijah can I have a hug?' and he said 'sure!' and leaned into Tianne as she put one arm around his back. Then she said, 'Can you sign my jacket?' (a pink vinyl coat) and he said, 'Your jacket! Okay, sure!' and then wrote 'ElWood' across the pocket! Score! Then Tianne asked for a photo and Elijah stood back and just pulled the doofiest face! As usual, Tianne didn't have the camera ready and tried to take it, didn't work and said, 'Crap!' Elijah waited, she tried again and as soon as she aimed the camera, he made the face, but worse! Then he blinked from the flash and Tianne asked, 'Can you see?' and he laughed and said, 'Yeah' and she said, noticing his purple shirt, 'I like the purple, I'm kinda diggin' that.' He (still signing stuff) said, 'Yeah? Thanks!' and then his publicist was yelling at people to hurry and he was gone. Elijah looked almost surrealistically pretty, perfect skin and luminous eyes. Unbelievable. Then Dom came by and the dude had on eyeliner and cologne that was fantastic. His hair was straight and he looked 'done'. He took a lot of time to sign things and one girl yelled out, 'Dom! Do you have a girlfriend?!' and he said laughing, 'No.' and a woman said, 'Want one?' and he said, 'I have many' still chuckling. He signed a ton of stuff and is really small. Very small fingers, but still sexy. Go Dom. Eventually Viggo finished his interviews but didn't do much with the fans and one by one, the rest of the stars left. Liv waved a bit, holding her dress up around her chest, but didn't sign anything on our side. Overall we got a lot of attention and Orlando really made the effort to greet the fans. You could honestly tell he was enjoying it and was blown away by our sign. The fact that it was arranged for Jasmin to get in courtesy of him was incredible! The news coverage was unexpected, but completely irrelevant to the fact that we, the Obfiles girls, got the attention and a picture in Orlando Bloom's personal collection! Rock on OBfiles! That's our story, and WHAT a night!! ***

Return of the King Premiere in LA December 3, 2003 by Missy
Wow! The LA premiere was awesome, but really packed. When we got there it seemed like everywhere we tried to stand we had to move because of the press. Well, anyway, when we found out you couldn't stand, practically, anywhere on the sidewalk, we went inside this restaurant called BJs or JBs or something, which had a table right next to this huge glass window about 10 ft. away from where the stars would be interviewed by people like TV Guide and such. So we just stayed in the restaurant until the star's came. After seeing some people like Howard Shore and PJ, my sisters and cousin and I started waving like mad at all the movie stars who, much to out delight, would wave directly at us (after a double take and a smile). So, when Orlando was being interviewed by some TV lady, we were jumping up and down and waving and screaming and his publicist smiled at us, tapped Orlando on the shoulder and pointed to us. He looked up from his interview and smiled and started waving at us. After seeing us freak out and scream, he laughed and went back to his interview. After waving at him, we were trying to get Billy Boyd's attention and after Billy waved at us I noticed that Orlando was still looking at us and he was waving. I'm not sure if he thought we were trying to get his attention or not, but when he walked off, he winked at us. It was awesome. I know, it's kind of pathetic, but over half the cast of Lord of the Rings waved at me, I'm happy.

Hey! All right, I'll admit that my Orlando encounter wasn't nearly as cool as everyone that was hugged and autographed by him, but all the same it was neato. My two little sisters and cousin got to Westwood at around 3:00 in the afternoon and were hunting like mad for a decent spot. At first we were standing by where the press would be, but realizing we would be kicked out looked and asked around. WELL, to make a long story short, we finally figured out that just because they close off the areas in front of the red carpet, doesn't mean you can't sit in the restaurants that are next to the red carpet, so my sisters and I got THE perfect viewing spot with a huge window and the ONLY spot the stars could see us and only us when they walked by. We were in an area where every star that walked by would have to look at us for as long as they were walking that strip of the carpet(which comes to about 10 minutes of eye contact with each star) and there were no other fans around or in front of us, and I couldn't have been more thrilled. David Wenham saw us waving like mad first. It was like he kind of saw us out of the corner of his eye then looked at us, smiled and started waving and laughing because we went hysterical. Then Liv saw us and it was pretty much a repeat of the situation. Ian McKellen was my favorite because he was squinting really hard like he couldn't see us that well but then he smiled and waved at us for the longest time. (Sorry I'm blabbering but when it comes to these people I'd be happy to just get a glimpse) When Orlando finally came by we freaked. We started practically windmilling our arms to get him to look up from the reporter. His agent saw us first, and she waved and smiled. She then proceeded to interrupt Orlando's interview and tapped him and motioned for him to look up at us. (how nice is she?) He looked up at my sisters and I and pretended to be shocked and he smiled and waved. I almost died.

Because there were no other fans around I was the only one who continued waving at him (my sisters were trying to get Billy Boyd's attention which Orlando thought was for him so he kept on waving) But then my poor tired arm was rewarded by a wink from Orlando straight at me. I then proceeded to tell my sisters who had stopped waving. So that was it. Sorry it took so long but moments like that are not a dime a dozen, and it was a dream come true to get attention from my favorite movie stars!

Here it goes, my sad little story (#2)....ROTK Premiere L.A.: I left for Westwood at like 3 pm, and was utterly disgusted with the traffic (on a Wednesday no less!), got to Westwood Village and there wasn't any parking to be found. I went with my boyfriends mom, who is a publicist -- she had been talking to some guy at New Line about passes. There were SOOOOOOO many people already there, it was insane! Finally we got a good parking spot for the bargain price of $20! I had my little messengers bag with me full of clothes and shoes to change into in case I'd over dressed for the whole deal -- I also had my cameras in there. We scoped out the scene, and at that point I was praying that we got our passes because there was NO way I was standing in those hords of wild fans! I went up to the gals with the now famous pink sign to find out if any of them were Candi and Gracie, and they were. We talked a bit and I descretely gave them the location of the after-party. Heh!Heh! Then I took off in search of Alisa and our passes. Unfortunately we got press passes, which ment we had to stay in the press line-ups. She was with the television crews and I was off with the photographers, all of which were clueless as to whom half the people were. BLAH!!!! I will say that I got incredible photos. I got them back today and I was pretty happy. I got photos of EVERYONE (that was a part of LOTR, I didn't care about the others). I spoke briefly with Andy Serkis, what a lovely man, and so freakin' talented! I got LOADS of shots of Orlando -- almost all of them are perfect. I got incredible shots of Liv, she looked so beautiful. After everyone went through the press line, I took off to the video area with Alisa. Then I spotted Orli off signing autographs like the devoted, fantastic man that he is. I tried to get as many photos of him, with fans, as I could. Then he got drug off (as usual) and headed to one of the theatres (this was sooo big they had 2 theatres for it!) I was able to get some group shots of the guys with Peter, they came out fantastic! Later I saw Orli signing more autographs so I went up and waited for him, I figured, what the hell, I'll have him sign something for me (i'm not really an autograph person, I'm all about the photos and the experience). He opened up my planner and saw the collage of photos I'd taken of him and he was surprised. He raised his eyebrows and said, "wow!" and smiled like his marvelous self does (he was probably thinking, "...freakin' stalker!" LOL). He gave it back and went to sign other stuff and I came up from behind him and was trying to place "a little gift" in his pocket, but I couldn't get it in because he hadn't taken the basting stiches out of his pockets! LOL! Oh, Orlando, such a guy! So again, I grabbed his hand and put it in, he automatically went to sign it (poor guy thats all his mind can do now is think to sign autographs), then he saw it and said thank you and gave me a big smile (FINALLY!) and winked at me -- whatta doll! There is where I had my little greeting with Dom -- I LOVE HIM! He's such a sweet guy and frickin' funny as hell! I was really excited to be hugged and kissed by a real life hobbit! And my favorite one at that! Later I realized that we were missing Elijah! I knew he did Leno that day, but he was really late, I knew that would happen as soon as I'd heard he was doing the show that same day. We waited around, then word came that he was stuck in traffic, but he was on his way. So I waited and went back to my spot in the press area, and I'll be damned if I didn't get some bloody magnificent shots of him! Fantastic, Courtney, if I must say so myself! LOL! We hung out a little more, I was in on a conversation with John Rhys-Davies and Viggo about our elvish tattoos. They wouldn't show theirs, but I showed them mine. So, that was it, I followed Orlando around as much as I could -- of course security hated that (they always do), but I just ignored them. It was a fun night, but STILL, Orlando didn't fall in love with me, we didn't have sex, I didn't even get to ASK him to accompany me to the restroom! Sorry, did I write that? I was only suppose to think it. LOL!

So it wasn't a "little" story, but it was sad. Sunday I'm off to see Jude (Law) at the Cold Mountain premiere, maybe I'll have better luck at that one! LOL! Cross your fingers! THE END... or shall I say, To Be Continued...

I was at the ROTK premiere and I watched orlando and a whole bunch of people walk down the red carpet. Orlando went over to the fans and spent lots of time over there. So sweet! When he went to get interviewed he wiped his cheek, like he had lipstick or someone scratched him or something. He loves the fans! Finally, I made my way into the theater and found my seat. All of the cast came in and were introduced and Orlando was slouching by the wall. He was talking to Liv and he kept looking up at the balcony and I wanted to wave but I didn't want to look dumb. Then they all left and we watched the movie... it's AMAZING!!!! I found out that Orlando went to dinner with his agent during the movie.

When the movie ended we headed to the after-party. I searched everywhere for Orlando and I finally found him. He was bent down and taking pictures with a man in a wheelchair. He talked to him for so long and he was kneeling on the floor. I love him. He's such a cutie. Anyway, I waited to go up to him. Then we told his agent/manager person that I had a book for him so she told him and he turned to me. I told him that I had made him a fanbook of messages from all his fans online. When I handed it to him he took it and then leaned over and kissed me on both cheeks!!! I love him, by the way. He said thank you sooo much! He said that it was so cool and nice. Then he flipped through it. He wanted me to tell everyone how much he appreciates our support. He said he doesn't do the online thing and I told him I knew, but he said that his "mum" looks at everything and has told him about how everyone is so dedicated to him. He said it was so sweet that I made it for him. Then I asked if I could hug him and he was like sure! So we hugged and it was wonderful! Then a security lady came over and asked me to leave, which was very uncool. But whatever, it was amazing!

My 10 year old Orlando fan and I stood across the street from the Fox Theater, at the end of the fan lineup, but at least in the very front. We were disappointed when none of the stars even made it close, but were still thrilled to have a clear view (except for the fact that they never stopped the traffic....UGH!). When Orlando first arrived, he was edging our way when the handlers got a hold of him and took him back toward the red carpet. As he left, he pointed towards us emphatically - - well, at least he acknowledged us - - very cool. About 45 minutes later, we suddenly saw him coming back across the street, to the screams of the appreciative crowd. He picked up where he left off. Much to our surprise, he kept heading our way, as no one else had. The next thing, thre he was! My daughter stuck out her book, got an autograph and close encounter she'll remember for life! He was the ONLY actor to 1) come back over and 2) make it all the way to the last fans. I hope he truly knows how happy he made everyone with that extra five minutes. My daughter has a glowing smile that I have never seen before still plastered on her face. What a package - he's gorgeous and considerate.

The day started off innocently enough....we woke up and got on the road by 10 a.m. for the Los Angeles premiere of Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. We arrived in Westwood by about 11:30 a.m., and we were very pleased that only about 60-70 people appeared to be in front of us. Shawna & Von went to "scope the locale" while Nelly and I stayed in line. When they came back, they reported that a friendly neighborhood cop had told them that the first 100 people would be allowed onto the Starbucks patio (Starbucks was on the corner/end of the red carpet) at about 4 p.m.

Fast forward many hours later, and we're told by the Starbucks manager that everyone has to have a receipt from the coffee shop to prove you made a minimum $5 purchase. I bought a couple of big chocolate chip cookies I barely ate (didn't eat anything ALL day, none of us did!), a gross strawberry/banana drink, and 55 cent Venezuelan chocolate I'm still debating what I'm going to do with :oP Everyone else made THEIR purchases, and we were safe.

Unfortunately, quite a few people showed up closer to the 4 p.m. hour and planted themselves with friends in line IN FRONT of us, so it was a mystery as to whether or not we were even going to MAKE IT in with the first 100 people. Lucky for us, when the receipts were being exchanged for green ADMIT ONE tickets, we ended up being 88-91! Talk about your close calls!

4 p.m. rolls around, we're allowed onto the patio, and it's playing the waiting game once more. Across the street, two different barricades were set up at the corners and tons of fans showed up and lined up there. The barricade over to our right across the street had girls with a HUGE hot pink banner that said, "Orlando! We came 10,000 miles to see you!" I had made a sign that said/says, "Came from Chicago to see The Bloom" so when I saw their big ass sign, clearly blowing my mileage out of the water, I became discouraged :o( No way I could compete, so there was NO way luck was on my side this night.

Celebs finally start showing up, and to our complete and utter DISMAY...they are going to EVERY OTHER FAN SECTION BUT OURS!! Yeah, us people who PAID to get onto the patio and WAITED IN LINE ALL DAY...we got ROYALLY screwed! Security was just NOT allowing ANY of the stars over to us at all. They waved, but that was it :o(

When Orlando finally appeared, the fans went NUTS! I keep comparing what happened when he arrived to what would happen when the Beatles showed up...an "Or-lan-do! Or-lan-do!" chant started quite a few times, with not only females but MALES (well, at least one REALLY weird one in our section) too!

Bless his beautiful heart...AS SOON as he gets out of the limo, he RUNS to the end of the section of fans right next to his car and starts signing/taking pics/saying hi to the fans! Doesn't stop to pose for any cameras or even really wave at the crowds...he just sprinted over and started. He worked his way down a healthy section of the crowd, and when he got...I'd say 3/4 of the way down, he found himself face-to-face with the "hot pink banner" fans. I watched him stop for them, give them hugs, turn and take pics (yes, HE took the pics!) with them....before his arm was practically yanked out of the socket by his "handlers" and he was whisked away. He looked apologetically at the crowds and made the "I'll be back for another round" signal with his right hand. And then he was gone!

Fast forward to a while later, and my friend Von (to my right) starts BEATING my arm like crazy! I heard fans going wild over to my left so I was trying to see what the commotion was about (practically impossible with all the taller people in front of me), and she points to in front of us and goes, "There he is!" I look and sure enough, sprinting (almost at a skip, I'd say :oP) across the street...not 15 yards from us, was Orli *sigh* He went over to the section of fans across the street he had NOT gotten to before. Went all the way down the line touching hands before stopping to take more pics and sign coming back the way he came.

Once he was finished, he had to come back across the street, right? Well, Von and I were there. She was trying to tape the thing with the video camera, and I didn't have my zoom lens camera with me and wasn't about to waste my energy with my digi cam, so I decided I'd hold up my "Came from Chicago to see The Bloom" sign :oP

I held it up, and OMW! I think he saw it! He pointed right over at us (in our direction), smiled, and made gestures and mouthed that he WANTED to come over, but couldn't. He did a little apologetic pout before security made sure he went back to the red carpet! AHHHHHH! OB looked at me and wanted to come over!! My night was complete. It had to be. The movie was minutes away from starting, NO stars had been allowed over by us, so I had to be satisfied with my OB sighting for the night.

Since we were right by the entrance of one of the theaters, we got to see LOTS of stars go into the premiere (Robin Williams, Rob Schneider, Joel from Good Charlotte, Kevin Smith just to name a few), and RIGHT before the movie was SCHEDULED to start, practically EVERYONE from LotR walked by real fast into the theater. Including dear Orli, who waved at our ignored and lonely section and smiled :o) And before I knew it, it was over! He was gone, as was everyone else. The movie had begun....what was left?

Well, we'd heard that last week at the LAST SAMURAI premiere, Tom Cruise came and signed/took pics with fans during the movie since he'd seen it already. So, Shawna/Von/Nelly decided we should stick around and play our cards. I was so frustrated with the fact we PAID to be there, stood in line ALL DAY to be there, and then got IGNORED by the actors (I blame it on security, not on them) that I really didn't want to stick around 3 hours and wait for the movie to let out. But of course, majority rules, so we stayed.

I was complaining to my friend Von as we sat down on the hard a$$ concrete that had ALL our feet and backs aching by the end of the night....I said we might as well go because we were all tired, hungry, achy, and kind of disappointed at the scattered nature of what had happened....and she said no, we were staying. Not 10-15 minutes after she said that, the fans who stuck around in my section start going nuts!

Sir Ian McKellen had come out of the theater, and bless his heart, he came over the red rope to sign autographs for fans! Then, Sean Astin came out as well as Dom...I don't believe they stopped for my section...but they were seen...and then, NUTSO CUCKOO again as you-know-who appeared. And guess what? He stopped to sign and take pics too!

Funny thing is, there were BUSHES in front of the guardrail of MOST of our section, so people were kind of THROWING things at him to get signed and he was such a doll as he signed them and threw them back! I have video of him doing this at least once and offering up a heartbreaking WINK as well ;o) Well, everyone was going crazy, so I decided to stick in my spot which was behind the guardrail/bush and hope he came all the way around. At this point, I had NO idea where any of my girls were, I was too flustered for words.

As he's coming around the corner, everyone BUM RUSHES the rail. I felt like I was going to die. It was SCARY! Fans are NOT kind, people. They just push and shove into you, trying to steal your spot, not caring who they are hurting. One of the cops saw that the rail was kind of buckling and...as he looks AT ME...says, "Back up! If you don't back up, we're leaving!" I say to him, "I can't! I can't!" but the pressure did ease up a bit, enough so I could breathe again AND so some witch snuck up in front of me :o(

So OB is coming around, and I know I can't get a picture with him because this girl is between him and I, so I decide to hold up my stupid sign. As he's coming around signing and snapping pics (again, he knows how to use a disposeable!), he's pretty much right in front of me, k? And he LOOKS UP AT MY SIGN!!! He reads it...with this adorable expression of befuddlement...as if to say, "WHY would anyone come from Chicago to see ME?!?!" Then he LOOKS DIRECTLY AT ME...IN MY FREAKIN' EYES...and this is OVER the tops of people and AROUND them as well....and he says to me with a smile, "Thank you for coming!"

I have no idea if I was conscious at this point, but I BELIEVE I smiled and nodded. I was kind of in a statue state...standing there with my hands in the air holding this sign...and the most beautiful man in the WORLD looking at me and acknowledging my existance. Then...and pay attention here....he asks me, "Do you want me to sign it?" I have NO idea if I nodded or he took the initiative, but he REACHES UP OVER PEOPLE and (with his own Sharpie...how much of a doll is he?!?!) and AUTOGRAPHS MY SIGN!!!!

When he's done, I pull it down and start freaking out to Shawna who was next to me (I knew she was there...she had been ready to try and take a picture of OB and myself but that girl snuck in front of us). So I'm prepared to read a hastily signed "Orlando Bloom" on my sign, right? Do you KNOW what is written in beautiful black scribble handwriting nice and BIG on my sign??

"Thanks 4 coming. <3 OB, X"

Yes, folks, he THANKED ME FOR COMING IN WRITING!! Could you NOT die?!?! I should've thanked HIM for being BORN, but of course, you don't have anything to say 'til the moment is gone. And yes, there is a VERY VISIBLE HEART above the "OB" and then the "X" is under his name (don't know why).

Since he was still going down the line for people, I ran down to the end to snap some photos with the digi. Got some nice ones too :o) As he's coming down, a man and his 4/5 year old daughter are next to me, and they had been DESPERATELY trying to get OB to sign this teddy bear for the girl! They had it held out to him, but the man's reach wasn't quite long enough, so I grabbed the bear from his hand and held it out myself since I was a bit in front of them. It ended up right in
