Victoria and David Beckham are nothing short of a media
phenomenon, with 9 international number ones, 11 international goals and
millions of hearts broken between them. David recently helped Manchester United
secure the premiership and has been the England football captain for the last
three years. Victoria recently caused a splash with her appearance at the
Goddess exhibition in New York's Metropolitan Museum of Contemporary Art, and
is currently working on eagerly anticipated new solo material. MTV UK &
Ireland is delighted that the Beckhams will take to the stage at the MTV Movie
Awards alongside the likes of Justin
Timberlake, Harrison
Ford and Samuel L.
Jackson to present the first Best Transatlantic
Breakthrough Award.
Colin Farrell has catapulted himself into the limelight this
year, thanks in part to his appearances in 'Phone Booth', 'Minority Report' and
'The Recruit' (alongside Al Pacino) and for his endless links to beautiful
women, compulsive interview soundbites and for turning up to a premiere with
Britney Spears on his arm. The 'Best Transatlantic Breakthrough' marks his
second nomination at this year's MTV Movie Awards, with his role as Bullseye in
'Daredevil' also up for a gong in the 'Best Villain' category.
Despite remaining firmly rooted in the UK, Jude Law has
found consistent success in the US, with films like 'AI', 'The Road To
Perdition' and 'The Talented Mr Ripley' under his belt. Remarkably, the 'Best
Transatlantic Breakthrough' award marks his first MTV Movie Awards
nomination.
Twenty-year-old Keira Knightley is currently enjoying her
first US fame with the success of 'Bend It Like Beckham', but has already
appeared in 'Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace' and horror-flick 'The
Hole'. She has just finished filming Jerry Bruckheimer's 'Pirates Of The
Caribbean' - due out this summer -opposite fellow nominee Orlando Bloomand. She
is currently working on the Richard Curtis-scripted 'Love Actually' alongside
Hugh Grant and Colin Firth.
Best known as Legolas from the Lord Of The Rings films,
Canterbury-born Orlando Bloom scooped 'Best Male Breakthrough' at last year's
MTV Movie Awards. He has also appeared in 'Black Hawk Down', can soon be seen
in 'Pirates Of The Caribbean' and is currently filming 'Troy' alongside Brad
Pitt and Julie Christie.
Oxford graduate Rosamund Pike had her first break in the TV
series 'A Rather English Marriage'. Her role as the double-crossing Miranda
Frost in 'Die Another Day' marked her first foray onto the big screen and she is
currently filming 'Castle Of Lies' alongside Hollywood veteran James
Caan.
The 2003 MTV Movie Awards will be hosted by Justin Timberlake and American
Pie's Seann William Scott, and will feature live performances from Pink, 50
Cent and Tatu. Celebrity guest presenters joining
Victoria and David Beckham include Harrison
Ford, Mark
Wahlberg, Kate
Hudson, Colin
Farrell, Samuel L.
Jackson, P.
Diddy, Brittany
Murphy, Queen
Latifah, Adrien
Brody, Josh
Hartnett, Luke
