From latimes.com: “I was thrilled,” Bloom said when asked how he felt when he got the call to return to Middle Earth. “Peter’s an amazing filmmaker, and these films are his babies, and to be a part of these again was just wonderful, you know.”
And since “The Hobbit” is a prequel to “The Lord of the Rings,” Bloom, 36, credits digital “magic” with getting his ageless elf to look even younger.
“Well, I work out, I drink juices. No, I’m joking! That’s a joke!” he said. “I think that’s the magic of digital photography, right? I was very happy that the wig still fit and that I got a chance to be in these movies. It’s a great character.”
From people.com: Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr announced their amicable separation earlier this year after three years of marriage. Since then, they seem to be going for the nicest breakup ever.
“We both love and cherish each other,” Bloom, 36, told E! Online on Monday at the Hollywood premiere of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, in which he reprises his role as flaxen-haired elf Legolas.
Just two days earlier, he seemingly proved that true when he shared lunch with Kerr, 30, and their son Flynn, who turns 3 next month, in New York City.
“What [our son] reads and knows about when he’s a grown-up is more important to me than anything,” said Bloom, who is currently playing the title role in Romeo and Juliet on Broadway.
Kerr shared a photo on Instagram of their son at the theater in New York. “Flynn having such a great time watching Daddy on stage,” she wrote.
Monday was not the first time Bloom spoke out about his determination to be friendly with Kerr for Flynn’s sake.
“We love each other. We’re a family. We’re going to be in each other’s lives for the rest of our lives,” he told Katie Couric in an interview that aired on her talk show, Katie, last month. “There’s no question that for the sake of our son and everything else, we’re going to support one another and love each other as parents to Flynn.”
“Life sometimes doesn’t work out exactly as we plan or hope for,” Bloom added. “But we’re adults … We’re professionals. We love and care about each other. Most of all, we love our son.”

From new-magazine.co.uk: Orlando Bloom has suddenly found himself with time to spare at Christmas - his turn as William Shakespeare’s romantic hero in Broadway’s Romeo and Juliet will end in December, one month earlier than planned.
The play, which also stars Condola Rashad, opened at the Richard Rodgers Theater in New York to mixed reviews in September (’13), and now producers have decided not to continue shows into the new year due to low sales.
A statement reads, “Based on a combination of sales and availability of cast members, we have determined that Sunday, Dec. 8 will be our final performance.”

From eonline.com: Sources tell me the couple has split after three years of marriage. A rep for Bloom exclusively confirms the breakup. “In a joint statement, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr have announced that they have been amicably separated for the past few months,” the rep said. “After six years together, they have recently decided to formalize their separation.”The statement continued, “Despite this being the end of their marriage, they love, support and respect each other as both parents of their son and as family.”
The 36-year-old British actor and the 30-year-old Australian Victoria’s Secret model began dating in 2007. They were married in July 2010 after announcing their engagment just a month beforehand.
